Another Diamorpha smallii photo. The others were from 3/15 & 4/12. This one was taken at a magnification of 1.0x (1:1). Again, these blooms are about 5mm across. Exposure: 1/15s, f/11 (reported), ISO 200, 420EX flash with bounce card held to the side (FEC +2).

00aLWG-463299584.jpg.8715058722875edf68d9f81ffc44f333.jpg

Great shots, everyone.

We've been on the road for the last 10 days with our brand new travel trailer, Tennessee to Pennsylvania and visiting my sister-in-law near Pittsburgh. One of the things I've discovered is that towing a trailer kind of limits your ability to stop for those great shots that pop up along the way - there's either no place to stop safely or no place to turn around. This was one of the exceptions, a '40s-era Shell station on US22 in Cambridge, Ohio. It's pretty much unedited, since I'm on my laptop...

00aLZH-463371584.jpg.42fcea84a93e32c629cdd95d80dfac24.jpg

A photograph from my series of The Seattle Alleyways. The building at my back had a steam vent just above my head and I shot this photograph through a burst of steam that was swirling around the alley. As such I picked up some lens flares and some prism colors over the entire scene.
