Went hiking with my EF 20mm f/2.8

While I really liked my EF 20mm lens on my EOS 5/EOS 3 cameras, I love it with my 550D. That effectively 32mm focal length suits so many of my purposes just right. Yesterday, I went hiking at the Moss Rock Preserve in Hoover, Alabama; in addition to the 550D and 20mm, I carried a 35mm, 50mm, and 135mm; but none of those saw the light of day. I was just really in a groove with that 20mm, so I thought I'd share some of the pleasing results. Now none of these are probably "stunning" but I think they're nice, and liked them well enough to share.

I just wanted to share the results I achieved with what I think is an under-appreciated lens in the Canon line-up. I hope you were able to enjoy the offerings more than some did the last time I shared some photos from Moss Rock (here on the Mirrorless forum).

Nice post Jeremy, and even nicer images. It is funny the way our brains seem to settle on a focal length, I use 35mm on a full frame very often, but also end up using zooms at close to 24mm.

With regards your other thread, I think threads like this have a lot of value, if you asked people what focal length was used for each shot I bet practically nobody would have said only one lens and a 28mm focal length at that.

Nice pics Jeremy. I love short lenses, and with primes I can focus on my vision instead of zooming back and forth trying to find the "right" length. I go out lots of times with my 24TS and a 50 and when I come across a scene it's easy to chose the lens, Duh I only give myself 2 choices. And in the long run it makes you better at "seeing" in those lengths. Jim
