tony_m
Interested in hearing anyone's experience printing B&W with the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II.
rogleale
If your main interest is in b&w printing I would look at the Epson range. I print from a Pro9000Mkll using Canon Easy PhotoPrint Pro. The colour prints produced are superb; printing grayscale mode the prints are good but very slow to print; using the colour mode the prints tend to have a warmer tint.
If I want to display a b&w print I use an outside lab, usually Ilford.
Just my opinion,
Roger
tony_m
Roger,
Reason I asked about this printer is I need to print larger that 8.5 x 11 and I can get a new one from Craig's List for $169.00. I now use a Canon iP4820 that uses two black cartridges but the 9000 uses only one. The iP4820 does a great job printing B&W scanned photos (original negatives damaged in a basement flood). Can a printer that uses only one black ink print as well as a printer using two black inks?
fred_wheeler
Tony, I like my Pro9000 a lot but I rarely print B&W. Just a thought but the Pro9500 uses 2 blacks and 1 gray among it's 10 cartridges which I expect would improve B&W printing. More $$ though than the Pro9000.
