How was the light set-up in this portrait?

<p>Natural light from above with possibly a small reflector at bottom of stairs aimed towards the face. Could be flash too though with a snoot.</p>

I'd say that's all available light with a small bit of dodging in post.

Maybe a reflector at feet too.

 

I would dodge that right inner periorbital a little more though.

 

 

Dyscongugate gaze usually denotes some form neurological damage. Image how smart he would be without it, he would

probably be a theoretical astrophysicist or something, instead of an actor.

<p>I too agree with the available light theory. However, I'm not too sure about the dodging in post. the walls are white and might well have provided sufficient fill to the man's face. Perhaps we could ask Paolo himself ;-)</p>

<p>I think there's a flash bouncing off the ceiling at the top of the stairs and the light on his face is probably coming off the walls.</p>
