Photo.net users who post their images to photo.net (or anywhere on the Web) should consider searching:
http://pixdaus.com/

for their images. (I'm not blaming photo.net for this...)

I found one of my images there using the tineye plug-in with my copyright notice stripped off:

I sent them my complaint but who knows if or when they'll take it down.

It seems the operators of these types of sites make their money by pilfering images belonging to others from the Web and encouraging their users to do it. Their site would be nothing without the infringing content.

Yeah, I've seen several of mine there. I feel that they've been helped indirectly (my photo is but a decoration), but I also feel I've not been hurt directly or indirectly (I don't work to sell my photos). However, such sites do hurt those who expect their photographs to provide financial gain, and my lack of desire to do anything about Pixdaus using my photos might be hurting other photographers. Sites like this shouldn't be allowed to exist, yet I'm not doing my part to make that happen.

Like most similar sites their terms are pretty clear - no posting content that infringes other parties copyright etc. They also provide info on what to do in order to get them to remove the infringing material and even provides details of the info you need to provide when filing a DMCA take down notice. http://pixdaus.com/pixdaus/help/policy/

Did you just send them an email or did you send a properly formatted DMCA take down notice? They only have to act if you send a properly formatted DMCA notice.
