I like your red tailed hawk. I also miss the bluebirds in winter, tho they should be back in a month or so.
Thanks Douglas and Michael. I found out how fast my little DL can shoot with this woodpecker. It was the smaller of 2 in the tree The larger stayed to hidden in the moss and this one didn't sty out in the open for long. I was visiting my parents in Florida last week when I saw the woodpeckers on a morning walk.

Justin, if your sister makes it she will be the prettiest one on the force - and she can arm wrestle!
I'm up near Kingston today and took a late day drive to Minnewaska State Park. It's up about 5-6000 feet, but. as I say, I drove.
There was ice hanging off the rocks on the way up and a bit of snow. Here's three shots.

Back to the ice races this weekend. Saturday, I left the camera at home and just watched. Sunday, I shot. The studded class was pretty tight and fun to watch today.

Not a great racing shot but that's our Sleeping Giant in the background. I think it makes for an interesting shot.
Pentax K-5, Sigma 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 APO DG OS, 1/125s, f/10, ISO 100

<a title="IMGP1424 by Fnawzm, on Flickr" href=" IMGP1424 src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7196/6907687613_e70e1633fd_o.jpg" alt="IMGP1424" width="640" height="424" />

Nice work this week everyone. Here are the ones that stood out to me:
Justin - nice shots and good luck to your sister. That's very impressive!
Markus - Nice work. The apples sure sound good!
Yury - I like your last pic of the moon. Good catch.
Douglas - I like the bluebird. They are so hard to shoot here, very nervous and flighty!
ME - I love that first shot. Such great textures and patterns!
Dave - the misty shot is very nice!
George - I really like that first shot; very well composed!
Hin - I really like your first. The DA15 lends it's self so nicely to this kind of shot!
Haig - beautiful shot of the wren!
Howard - the first is really nice. I really like that composition!

Hey all, first week posting here since switching from Nikon over to Pentax. I'm still in "playing with my new stuff' mode, which is fun and usually gets the juices flowing. Here's a shot from my weekend visit to Pittsburgh, not technically demanding, but I really like how the K5 and 35mm AL handled it. That lens is cheap and awesome.

00a3RZ-444973684.jpg.c0554cbe0357ad3b55747930a6bb97ef.jpg
