sfcole
Any suggestions for a place that will work on my new F-1 (AE)? It needs a CLA, but Camera Tech in Seattle, which put in a new shutter almost 20 years ago, told me they no longer work on the F-1. I'd rather keep this camera than my Leica.

Also, the AE reading is correct, while the manual metering is one step under. Is it possible with the F-1 AE to adjust so that both read the same?
thanks

jim_bielecki1
You might try Ken Oikawa. Ken is a retired Canon service tech who specializes in older FD and FL Canons'. He also has a stash of NOS Canon parts. He overhauled my original F-1 with great results. He lives in California. Telephone # is 951-246-9136. Note that Ken is from Japan and English is not his native language, so talking to him can be a bit of a challenge.

Andy Collins
Does Ken have an email address? My F-1N could use a good CLA as well.
jim_bielecki1
I don't believe so. At least he didn't when he overhauled my F-1 a few year's back.

I just did a quick check of some Canon sites and I found his phone number and address, but no email.

flatulent1
Scott, you might try Camera Clinic in Shoreline. Doug works on a lot of old stuff. He CLAd a couple of FTb for me a few years ago.
doug_nelson3
www.camerarepairjapan.com in Atlanta, GA did a great job on my F-1N but it was in 2002. Get it fixed if you can and enjoy it for the rest of your life.
nikos_lazaridis
Would anyone have a recommendation for a repair specialist for the Canon F-1 (all models) within Europe?
I have the 3 F-1 models (and a stuck Canonet G-III QL17) and they all need a good CLA.
I need a repairman who actually knows these analogue Canons inside out and not someone who is familiar with today's DSLRs but has never repaired an analogue Canon before.
If someone can point in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
