matthew_rusbarsky
I've finally gotten around to developing my film backlog. Here are a few from my GAF L-17 with an Oreston 1.7 mounted. FP4 @ 50 in Rodinal 1:50. blinding sun without a cloud in the sky. As tempertures pushed toward 110F a garage in the back alley spontaneously combusted.

Rick_van_Nooij
Nice shots Matthew, I definitely like No.2 . Shame it lost its news value months ago, you might have made some money from selling these photos to the local newspaper. Heh.
I also find myself always takeing pictures of people with their backs turned to me as well, but mine rarely turn out like your No.3

paul_noble
You probably need to be a little careful, photograping a fire. I've heard that arson investigators watch the crowd, looking for people who seem a little MORE fascinated by the fire than normal.

So, your comment about the firefighter wondering about "the creepy guy with the camera", may have been more true than you know.
matthew_rusbarsky
"I've heard that arson investigators watch the crowd, looking for people who seem a little MORE fascinated by the fire than normal."
My interest was hardly more than normal. I was in a crowd of 30-50 people, half of whom were shooting video on cell phones. Fascination is also not quite the right word. This is a poor neighborhood of 130 year old row-houses that go up like a box of matches. A stray spark from a seemingly innocuous garage fire like could have easily have terrible consequences.
