Hi all,
I would like to know the English translation of the french word : 'Noise' (degradation of the digital file that occurs by increasing the ISO of his camera digital)? I can not find the English version of word, is it may be 'noise'?
Thanks for your answers,

A word can have different meanings depending on the context of discussion. I think within context of talking about digital imaging, the use of the English word 'noise' is commonly used to refer to pixels exhibiting incorrect color values as light levels diminish.

Yes, bruit is noise. In French it's usually used as a noun, whether the noise of active children or a passing train. In English a legitimate use is to say "to bruit something about" which would mean to noisily express something, usually something we would talk about quietly like a rumour, a family secret or anything we'd prefer to be treated with discretion.
