igord
During the vacations it happened twice - part of the image is dark. I have changed the shutter two years ago, but previous one just jammed after around 250 000 clicks. This one made max 50 000.
Is this shutter issue? The camera is 5D.

William Kahn
To me, it just looks underexposed at the bottom...
jim_h.2
Yes I agree, I don't think its the shutter at all, just underexposed for whatever the situation, you had lots of dark rain clouds and depending where you may been standing when the shot was taken could have certainly given you this darker bottom part of photo ,more so on right of shot than left I can make out a few items that were brighter than the dark sand, so I would say it really boiled down to more of in-climate weather at worst, i get these shots myself when i try and shoot distance in a darker than normal day,and at 50k clicks I really would doubt that the shutter is no where close to being finished.
igord
It is underexposed at the bottom but the next one is NOT, you can see sand etc... It happened one more time later this day. But anyway thanks for your comments.
sattler123
Yes, it looks like a shutter problem. Send it to Canon - replacing the shutter is not THAT expensive.
Marcus Ian
Good luck w/ your new shutter... That gives you an average of 150k per shutter. If the 3rd one lasts as long, you'll be nearing half a million exposures on the camera before you put #4 in...

Might have to replace that worn shutter finger too...
Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. William Kahn
OK, having way too much time on my hands today, I blew up the levels on your shot and found a strip of coding at the bottom. I don't know if it indicates a shutter problem or something else, but it might be a clue. Good luck...

JDMvW
The 'encoding' might mean it is the sensor that is going the way of all flesh, etc.
Whatever, I'm afraid this one does need professional help. Good luck to you.
