richardsperry
PN compresses your files on upload. For example I just uploaded a 360kb file. It's stored as a 190kb file after upload.
Matt Laur
Are you talking about an upload to your gallery (and if so, have you clicked on the image in order to see it full-size?), or are you talking about images you've posted into a discussion thread, attached to a comment?
jim_service
I experienced the same thing, then found that I wasn't looking at it at the original resolution on the website. If you have a PC, try Ctrl + or -. You may find the sweet spot where everything becomes clear.
richardsperry
Jim,

Just upload a jpg file. It will compress. The file size is smaller. Just right click and check the file size, it's right there.

Matt, I am referring to the non thumbnail image, after you click on the large thumbnail from the Gallery.
http://www.photo.net/photo/13718436&size=lg
This image is 532kb before upload, it is 197kb after upload at the 1000x1000 size that you see there. The thumbnail is only 85kb, more compressed.
