miles_s.
I am looking for the Alessi quotation on the Leica M system. I would be grateful for assistance. There are varying paraphrases of this the exact quotation or a part thereof. Also looking for which Alessi said it, when, and where is it was quoted. If in Italian that is fine.
marc_rochkind
It was one of the few quotations of the 20th century that was so perfect that I would never try to paraphrase it.
miles_s.
Marc, so you can provide it word-by-word then? Great. Please type it out here. Much appreciated.
mpo
Curious about that quote too.
In an interview Alberto Alessi stated he owns a Hasselblad from the seventies and a Leica M8 (especially made for him), but made no particular remark about any of them.
Robin Smith
I guess you guys must be in a club of which I am not a member as I have no idea what you are talking about. Could anyone enlighten us ignoramuses?
Robin Smith
miles_s.
Sure, Marc made a clever reference to it earlier.
Some Leica folks like to point out a famous Italian desinger in the Alessi family said of the Leica M that it one of the few designs of the 20th century so perfect he would never try to change it. Or words to that effect. It is often repeated and paraphrased but I am looking for the quotation and a source.
Robin Smith
Ah I see, now I get Marc's joke. Never heard of this quote before. Thanks.
Robin Smith
