wilson_allison
Hey everyone. I was recently diving in Cozumel @ 90' with my Ikelite housing and the housing flooded........ Needless to say the camera is toast, but the sd card looked ok. The card and camera were submerged for 1 hour!
When I got back to the hotel, I took the sd card housing apart and rinsed the card in fresh water. I then placed it in a ziplock bag filled with rice to dry it out.
After it was dry, I cleaned it with alcohol and tried the card. My camera, other camera, said card error and my macbook won't recognize it at all!!!!!!!!
I broke down and sent the card to datatech recovery services and they told me, after inspection, that the card had no physical damage. WHAT! WOOOHOOOO! But, they want $150.00 to retrieve the info :o
Can I just say "NO" and try something else myself?

Any suggestions?
jim_gibbons
Put it someplace dry for days or even weeks. Maybe even some time in the sun or a hairdryer for awhile.
