Rolleiflex FW: Filter for viewing lens

<p>Rolleiwiders,<br /> I would like to protect the glass of my viewing lens on my Rolleiflex FW. Unfortunately, the 49mm glass would have to be "elevated" from a recessed holder, as the Heidosmat "outside" element is more proeminent than the FX and comes outside of the filter carrier inner thread.<br>

Furthermore, the filter/shade of the bottom lens is wider than the "normal" rolleiflex, which prevents the use of a traditional filter on the viewing lens. I suspect that one would have to hand-craft a protection lens for the viewing lens, which would have to be recessed and somewhat elevated (maybe by 1mm). Or is there another solution to this problem?</p>
