loose diopter / prism - repair needed?

<p>Hi,<br>

I have a DIY question regarding a 645 I can buy.<br>

The camera has a loose diopter assembly and when I unscrew the diopter itself, the small piece behind this is loose.<br>

<br />There was one loose tiny screw and a small copper colored ring in there. The whole part wiggles and prevents me from focusing correctly. These seems to be a small "ridge" in the top of the camera where I think the assembly should be fixed. I googled already and cannot find a good solution how to tackle this challenge.<br>

I want to try a DIY repair since the pentax service cost are close to the asking price. I am quite handy and have the proper small screw drivers etc but need a drawing to prevent a disassembly only job :-)<br>

Does someone have a service manual or a exploded view drawing of the prism/diopter assembly?<br>

Any other good ideas?</p>

<p>There are three models of the 645, which one is this. Sorry I can't help with service info.</p>

It is the manual focus Pentax 645, not the N or NII.

I am looking for a good way to open it, in a good order. A couple of times, I have taken things apart to find out that a

spring would pop out or something similar.
