john_wheeler6
Hi all.
I am a new member to Photo.net yet not new to amateur photography. Nikon F2 since 1972 and finally retired that unit in 2005 for a Nikon D200. Someday a full frame unit?
I work part time as a consultant and I am retired the other part enjoying friends, family, traveling, Photoshop, photo restoration, genealogy, and especially my 3 grandchildren.
I am very very left brained so Photoshop just seems to click for me. However, when I look at others creative images and postings, I often stare in enjoyment and ponder in wonderment - just how do they create such beauty? So hope to be able to contribute to the forum when I can on the Photoshop front and pick up more knowledge and a sense on how to do "art."
Here is a backyard shot from last year that greeted my wife and I after being gone from home for a couple months. It felt really good to see such a nice "welcome home":

Hope to meet more of you online. I have really enjoyed what I have been able to read online so far which barely scratches the surface of what is available on Photo.net
drjoder
Welcome, John. I'm down here in Boulder (in the pouring rain currently). Yes, this site is one of my favorites...I like the attitude here (generally!) and I have learned a lot. BTW, that SEARCH box in the upper right corner is great for looking up old threads about whatever question you might come up with--chances are it has been discussed. For me, that SEARCH box, the various Forum discussions, and the LEARNING tab have been super. Have fun and I'm looking forward to seeing some Colorado shots appear in your portfolio!
wood
Welcome to PN, John. This is a great resource for photographers of all levels. As Daniel said, the search function is extremely helpful as are the forums in general. The more you contribute to the site, the more benefit you will receive.
