david_franklin1
I was checking my Hasselblad kit tonight and noticed that an internal element on my 903 has a small area of haze, almost looks like a small area of oil film, something like that? Could that be from the iris or is it fungus? I have e-mailed Hasselblad for a quote to clean it, but does anyone know of anyone else in the UK who could clean it? Many thanks.
Rob F.
Can you post a picture of it? Your description of it as oil film does sound like it could be from the diaphragm. Fungus tends to have a lacy appearance. Do you see any oil on the diaphragm?
leicaglow
Also, I have never seen fungus in a Hasselblad lens. Not that it doesn't/couldn't exist, but it would be very rare.
david_franklin1
I thought I just sent a response, but it does not seem to have appeared? Anyway, thank you both for your responses. I don't have anything digital so can't easily submit a picture. I know what you mean about a lacy pattern from fungus and this does not look like that, more like a greasy fingerprint smear, but on an inside element.
q.g._de_bakker
Could indeed be a film of oil, evaporated from inside the shutter/diaphragm mechanism, condensed on the lens element.
