mikemorrell
Me neither. Interesting that he incorporates some longish exposure effects (movement) into the new york 12 drawing. If his drawings were in fact photographs, then he'd get the usual suggestions of using a faster shutter, increasing contrast, etc. ;)
Thanks for the link
Mike
starvy
Well, like all projects there would be a learning process. After that process is complete it is mainly processing. So we are talking about some photo manipulation time.
James G. Dainis
Starvy, You do realize those are drawings not photographs? James G. Dainis

puce
These are really striking images - the color images were the most surprising as the tonal continuity was really amazing. Thank you for providing the link to this very special artist.
sarah_fox
Incredible! I have to say, though, that my favorite of his was the one drawing that didn't quite look photorealistic.

I find it interesting that the drawing of the old woman had "blown out" highlights. Obviously Cadden could have drawn her any way he wanted, and yet he chose to blow out the highlights.

tom_mann1
I wonder if he draws over an existing photo or starts from scratch?

Tom M
lex_jenkins
He also seems to be giving a gently ironic nudge toward the near-cliched style of gritty street and candid photography.
tomascastelazo
As talented as Mr. Cadden may be, he sure has no regards for copyrights. He took one of my photographs, located here http://www.photo.net/photo/7169868, copies it, as is passing it on as his own creation infringing on my copyrights. Here is the comparative: <img src=" alt="" /> <a href=" >http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomascastelazo/7166352094/in/photostream
lex_jenkins
Tomas, just my personal opinion, take it for what it's worth: Use this opportunity to boost your own visibility. Rather than making a negative issue about copyright infringement, take advantage of the publicity by attaching links to your original photo to any mention online of Cadden's drawings.

In other words, as the saying goes, imitation/plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery. Let Cadden enjoy the publicity he receives for his drawings, and ride along so you benefit as well.

tom_mann1
Tomas, Google {"take down notice" site:photo.net}. You may want to consider taking that course of action. From what I can tell at this point, it seems clear that he infringed on your IP.

Tom M
