How to remove battery from MR9 battery adapter?

I have a Sekonic L-248 Multi-Lumi and the battery has died. I notice

when I went to replace the battery that it has a MR9 battery adapter.

I don't know how to get the old battery out of the adapter to put a

new one in. It fits quite snug and doesn't fall out. Also what

battery should I replace it with, if I can't read what it says on the

battery?

They say it's a silver 386 battery. Perhaps an email to them might unearth some 'tips' for removing the battery from the adapter.
