Got this shot on Monday and spent the rest of the week dodging T-storms and tornado watches.

EOS 5D Mk II, 1/25 @ f/16, EF 28-105mm @ 105mm. BW conversion via trial version of Silver Efex 2. (Damn, I love that software. Too bad I can't afford it...)

I had spent the lat month with a friends 17 - 40 trying to learn something new. I have never used a lens wider that 24 mm (28 was my widest in film days) and cannot seem to get a handle on it. Deleted all the images I took... Oh well, I'll try again some day.

So, here is a shot from December, 2009 when I was down in Arizona for my then day job.

I have always loved the desert, and the Suguaro cacti in Organ Pipe NM were just too cool. Some of the shapes are so interesting. I would wander around and sometimes just chuckle to myself at some of them and what they inplied. ;) This one turned out well, at least imho...

00YbVV-350391584.jpg.06572ddc30054f16423d2ba66ef711e8.jpg

My son Tim with his red beard. It runs in the family as does the complete lack of hair on top. He was about to shave it off for the warm season so I had to preserve it for posterity.
Not taken this week, but I figured now was as good of a time as any other to start posting more. Such a wonderful community of knowledge, I'd like to get much more involved.

This was taken last fall, Had somewhat of an Andy Goldsworthy Moment.
