Hi, time to post your single favor pic of the week. I'll start with a toast to St. Patrick's Day by a photo taken a couple of years back of one of my favorite fiddlers. The gorgeous and talented Kathleen Keane. M7 - CV90 BTW, for those who may be interested in supporting relief efforts in Japan photographically, there is a print auction over at Flickr. You can post a pic for sale. The purchaser makes a donation. See http://www.flickr.com/groups/charityprintauctions/pool/with/5538729980/ for the rules.

FED 1b (1936) & coated Industar 22 (not 100% sure, it might have been a Leica IIIf & Jupiter 8)

I usually don't photograph homeless people or beggars, but when some stranger stepped in and told him to move along I couldn't help myself.

00YPsF-340385584.jpg.acb274b36e7db1fdc6a4a835380a8484.jpg

Snow is beautiful and romantic if you are properly insulated against it. It can be deadly if you are not. Many evacuees in the quake-hit Tohoku-Kanto region have been facing snow without adequate warmth because of lack of heating oil (for one thing). People have died in shelters and hospitals from cold-related causes like hypothermia. The is not happy photograph, given the circumstance in Japan right now.

00YPsT-340391584.jpg.03b6efcc25f4936e12bb6732cb67da9f.jpg

Nice one, Sanford. Alex, thanks for keeping the situation in Japan fresh in our minds. The news agencies are already switching to the 'next' big story in Libya. Meanwhile, there are still people dying from exposure in the affected areas of Japan.
