keith_cooper
Does using the MS-13 Lithium battery holder with two 3V Lithium batteries to power the F-100 cut down at all (or enough to notice) on the overall weight of the camera? As opposed to 4 AA batteries... Any drawbacks where power is concerned to doing this? Thanks, Keith
hal_bissinger
Not familiar with the MS-13 but I certainly can't see how it would cut down the weight since 4 AA lithiums are pretty light to begin with. I really can't see how they contribute much to the total weight. An advantage is BEING ABLE to use readily available AA batteries of any type if you have to. I think it would be a disadvantage using CR-123As that you may have a problem getting in a hurry and are more expensive. This problem is the bane of the N80 and SB-50DX. erick_lamontagne
1-You can buy AA lithiums. 2-There are good reasons to prefer lithiums to alkalines but weight? I know lithiums are lighter but... come on!
rick_falck
I used the 3V lithiums when traveling Europe because they don't sell AA lithiums anywhere I ever saw. At home (California) I use 4 AA lithiums. I prefer lithiums in general because they do not have a problem with cold temps, whereas alkylines lose power. 4 AA lithiums last MUCH longer than anything else. I shot an average of 20 rolls with the 3V ones, and have yet to change the AA lithiums, with my F100. If you use the VR lens, the extra power is necessary. jim_gifford
Even if they were helium batteries the camera wouldn't be appreciably lighter. Try this: heft your F100 for a couple of minutes. Then take the batteries out entirely and pick it back up. See? Not too much difference.
larry n.
No reason to use the MS-13 when you can buy AA lithiums.
