megan_griffith
Hello, I have a question about the canon ef 28-135 usm zoom lens. It says the minimum aperture is 3.5 and the maximum is 4.5 does that mean if i used this lens those would be the only apertures available for me to shoot with? Thanks for your time, Megan
railphotog
No, the apertures quoted are the maximum available with the lens at both ends of its zoom range. At 28mm the lens can open to f/3.5; at the long end of 135mm the maximum lens opening is f/4.5. In between the two extremes the opening would be between these two apertures. The lens can probably stop down (close down) to f/22 at any zoom setting.
