smw-jmw
Can anyone shed some light on this classic 35mm fully manual camera. It has the name Three Cs above the lens and on the top plate. it is lever wound with a flash hot shoe. The lens is a Fujiyama c. Eminent f2.8. Camera serial number 58015. Made in Japan.
It is fairly heavy and feels well made, although the lens feels quite light and not very precise on the foucusing. Everything seems to work including the self timer. I have not as yet put a film through it. I have searched the internet, but as yet I have not been able to find any information on this camera or the maker. My guess would be late 50's very early 60's.
I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has seen one or knows of this brand.

Cheers
Steve

gene m
Made by Oshiro Optical Works c.1956. Similar cameras made by the same manufacturer are the Emi K 35. Fujiyama C (McKeown.)

JDMvW
Wow, I've not seen one of these before. Please do show us pictures

Kadlubek has what may be the same camera (Emi K of 1956) listed under the Oshiro Optical as OSH0020 with the Fujiyama Eminent 50mm f/2.8 lens. There is only the barest relation of Kadlubek's prices to current internet prices (usually Kadlubek is much higher), but they list this camera in the 5th ed, (2004) as US$70.
smw-jmw
Many thanks JDM.
I have quite a few cameras I still have to put film through (shame on me), I am gradually working my way through them. I may well sell/swap this camera, allthough its nicey made and in condition it's not really one of my favorites.
janice_poulson
I have this camera it was purchased in the Co-operative Store in Carr Street Ipswich where they had a photographic department around 1965.
I took some great photos with it - i think i had it on 5.6 or 8 most of the time though, it used flash cubes and had a single flex cord attached to the x. Self timer was also good. It served its purpose as this was my first camera at the age of 12 yrs old.
