I was just watching the Sporting Group judging at the Westminster Kennel Club's annual all-breed show in New York. Those professional handlers have a real rapport with their canine charges, and all of those super-tuned-in hunting dogs reminded me of a recent portrait session with a young Lab. He couldn't keep his eyes off of his mom (and the treats she was using keep him focused). They worked well together, and I could pay attention to setting up an off-camera speedlight and umbrella out in their muddy yard. The whole Nikon pacakge came together for me, as it always does. What have you been up to? Share a photo!

gej_jones
My photo this week is of St. Michael's Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida . I added the color back when I realized that it was the only red in the photo and the only flowers in this shot.

alex_zepeda
I shot this the other day. I had rented the 12-24 to get some shots of a house nearby that was being remodeled (the first floor is currently missing) and of a new mural nearby (murals in this neck of the woods are extremely rare — and the shop owner is getting grief from the city). I didn't really like this shot until I cropped it a bit more (was 16:9 is now 10:4). The weather is shit today, but it really cooperated that day, and the sunset was nothing short of fantastic. Maybe it's time to get an ultra-wide zoom. Dunno. The 16:9 version is <a href="

D200 • ISO 100 • Nikon 12-24 @ 12mm • ƒ/5.0 • 1/6th

SF has its own graffiti art tradition, i know, but what's happening in Oakland is particularly exciting right now.
