Why I paid more for the Leica D-Lux 5, instead of cheaper Panasonic LX5

Roger, if it works for you - use it.
I still shoot with the old Deardorff even though there are many other newer cameras with much greater precision. I like what I have, am comfortable with it and enjoy it. Friends with Sinar/Linhof/Ebony are the same.
Put up all the photos you want and no one will be able to tell the camera they are shot with. As long as the images are good and you are happy, what does it really matter?
I am older and just can't live with holding a camera out at arms length looking at a little screen. Others wonder how I can see through the peephole optical viewfinders. Everybody is different. As long as it works, use it.

Well some people like brands over the others. Well If i could afford Armani jeans over GAP/CK/Levis then i will buy Armani jeans, which may not make me appear better looking.
So as Michael rightly said you are fortunate enough to buy such thing so enjoy that. If i could buy leica i would never buy less expensive panasonic even if they are equivalant.

Regards,
Sunil
