Love the contrast between the two shots Justin.

Looks cold Jordan!

Javier, that first one is really good, in composition, subject, and tonality. Love it.

Ouch Douglas! I hope you can make a quick recovery!
.
I got a Sigma EF-530 DG Super recently and I'm trying to get comfortable using it. Here's a self portrait I took the other night while playing with it (up too late).
K-x, da40, EF-530 DG Super
<a title="IMGP6151.jpg by MattB.net, on Flickr" href=" IMGP6151.jpg src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4113/5414701485_f36ddcba67_z.jpg" alt="IMGP6151.jpg" width="640" height="640" />
.
I keep seeing eagles lately. Here's one I saw yesterday on the way home from skiing.
I'm enjoying the diversity of shots today.

This past week we got a little pre-Spring sunshine and relative warmth. This made it a lot easier for me to get out with the new-to-me Pentax 645 and exercise my dormant film loading skills. So far there's a lot of pleasure with using the camera, and adjusting to the more square aspect ratio. The ability to selectively manage DOF with the larger format and see it clearly in the larger finder is awfully satisfying. I'm also finding that I'm cropping less in post which is a good sign.

Testing out different films these first weeks. So far my preferences are the new Kodak Portra 400, Fujicolor 400, and the now-discontinued Porta 400 VC in that order. I've got Ektar 100 loaded, and orders for chrome film in my Amazon shopping cart.

OTOH, physically dealing with roll film and the carts is almost too labor intensive for me these days. I'm spoiled beyond redemption by memory cards. Same goes for waiting a couple of days to see results. Life's too short.

These shots are my first using scans from a pretty good Epson 4990 flatbed I picked up last week. My goal is just web output and would have to outsource re-scanning for any serious printing.

Douglas, may your arm heal quickly.
