moosekaka_lim
hello, does anyone have experience using the tenergy LiFePO4 or 900mah rechargeable cr123 for use in a SB30 flash and a film N70/N80 SLR? if you do, how does it compare to normal CR123?
i 've read a few old posts from years past on unreliability of RCR123 when used to replace CR123, just wondering if they've improved since then.

these are the batteries i'm refering to:
http://www.amazon.com/Kits-RCR123A-LiFePO4-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B001EYHO9G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1296525164&sr=8-4#productPromotions
and
http://www.amazon.com/RCR123A-Rechargeable-Protected-Batteries-Charger/dp/9575871979/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1296525164&sr=8-2
I know i can get regular CR123 at $1 for a 40px box, but i just dont like the idea of disposing away so many battery cases.
joseph_wisniewski
I'm not familiar with Tenergy, but I've never seen a rechargeable CR123 that tested out more than 75% of its rating. So, I'd expect this one to deliver more like 700mA-H, a bit under half a decent "regular" CR123. Can you live with half the number of flashes between battery changes?
moosekaka_lim
yes i can, not a regular/power flash shooter. my concern is whether they will even power up my N70 and sb 30, before i splash $30+ on these things
frank_skomial
I use RCR123, rechareable CR123, in the Nikon SU800 commander for CLS system.
They work OK, and I always take a spare, but never had to replace it when shooting.
Since the SU800 is not a flash, but just an IR commander, perhaps it takes much less power.
My batteries are a different brand sold in Fry's Electronics.
Peter_in_PA
Some electronics can get damaged by too low power coming in. I don't know if these are that way.

I wouldn't do it.
