Nikon F4 and 50mm f/1.8 AF.

<p>I went on a stroll with my F4, 50/1.8 AF and some Portra 160 NC. I normally do not use the 50mm kit lens, so I popped it on the camera and visited a local park.</p>

<p>Enjoyable shots, Raymond. I always try to identify cities by their skyline, but I con't have a clue here. Your first scenic photo looks like there are two major cities in the background.</p>

<p>I couldn't help but smile at the thought of the 50mm f/1.8 on an F4. I have that lens and it probably the lightest one in my inventory, and my F4s is one of my most humongous 35 mm cameras, exceeded only by my anvil, the F5. I am looking forward to trying the lens on my newly acquired N80, which seems a more convenient combo. But hey, your setup works very well.</p>

Nice shots Raymond. My 50 AFD is still one of my favorites on my film cameras. It doesn't get nearly as much use on

my d50, though. I always loved it's diminutive size and superb optics.

<p>@James, thanks for the kind works. That is Manhattan. On the right is the downtown financial district and to the left is midtown. That taller building on the left is the Empire State Building minus King Kong. It was too cold for him. I put the MB-20 grip on to lighten the camera up. But it is still heavy. I recently acquired an N80 myself. It came with a Speedlight SB-28DX that I was looking for and 28-80mm/3.3-5.6G kit lens. The 28-80 seems to be decent lens, even without an aperture ring.<br>

<p>I'm afraid my most recent Nikon product is my Nikkormat EL, but it would qualify here too. Have to have a battery for sure. I still love that camera, and all of my old non-AI manual lenses work on it.</p>

<p>Those Nikon 50mm lenses were and are great lenses, as your results illustrate. ;)</p>

<p>Very nice, Raymond. That's a good looking camera and paired with your 50mm, it seems to all work together quite nicely. I got a Nikkor 50/1.4G AFS for my F100 which I really like a lot. It's a bit of a challenge for me, an avowed zoom-user, to use only the 50mm for a day of shooting to see what I can coax my creativity to produce. Perhaps I'll post some shots in another thread soon. Thanks for sharing these.</p>

<p>Thanks JDM and Andy. The F4 has the K focusing screen in it. I have a lot of AIS manual focus Nikkors.</p>
