Double Cut Film/Plate Holder Type A

I have a Plate Holder Type A, holds cut film 2 1/4 x 3 1/4. Its in great shape, showing very little use. Research on it has me kinda confused. Do I need adapter P plus adapter M, or do I only need adapter M? On the auction site I found a horizontal and a vertical M adapter,so that tells me its not a rotating back. Will using the Plate Holder Type A on my RB utilize the entire film, or will it be 6x7? I thought that if this Holder Type A permits me to get 6x9's from my RB I'd check into what a Adapter M would set me back. But, if I can't get 6x9's out of it it might be a good time to trade or sell it.Any info would be appreciated. thanks--tom

I believe the widest you can achieve is 6X8. This is only with the latter versions of the Pro S, and on all of the Pro SD's, and only when using the motorized 6X8 back.
The narrative in the RB manual states that with the proper adapters, used in conjunction with the appropriate sheet film holders, the most you can obtain is 6X7.
This will link you to the RB67 Pro S Manual, go to pages 55-57
http://www.cameramanuals.org/mamiya_pdf/mamiya_rb67_pro-s-2.pdf
This is a system diagram for the RB67 Pro S
http://www.cameramanuals.org/mamiya_pdf/mamiya_rb67_pro-s_system.pdf

I have researched this quite a bit in my efforts of trying to get 6X8 on an RZ, utilizing the Pro SD motorized back.
The rear opening of the camera bodies at the film plane limits the size of image possible.
On the RB it's 8X8, on the RZ it's 7X7.
