k_kakkinen Posted January 16, 2011 Share Posted January 16, 2011
Seems that I'm first for the first time... Here in Örnsköldsvik (northen Sweden) we have a lot of snow and more is coming as I writing this...According to our municipality the plowing money ended in November last year...so, I wonder what money are paying for the present plowing ?

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bob-c Posted January 16, 2011 Share Posted January 16, 2011
Nice shot, Kari, and in the end, I am sure you will pay for it. Here are two more from last weekend's trip into the city during a small snowstorm. Both shot with the K20D.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

garry_young1 Posted January 16, 2011 Share Posted January 16, 2011
I have been shooting a lot more recently, so now I'm starting to struggle to eliminate junk again lol! Good problem to have. Anyway, I have chosen three, all shot with the K20D and Tamron lenses.

The first is from a lunch time walk where I was testing my newly acquired Tamron el-cheapo 70-300 zoom. It is just as bad as I thought it would be, but better than the Pentax FAJ 70-300 alternative, and also better than the Pentax DA 50-200 alternative. It's of an old man pushing his bicycle:

The second was taken yesterday on an exploration trip to an abandoned Buddhist monastery in the mountains. I have been out twice before looking for it, but didn't find it, this time I found it. (I may post a separate thread on that spot) The shot is from inside the 6th floor, looking through a window to the north. The city is to the left. Lens is my Tamron 17-50mm:

The third shot was from today. The weather has gone bad, but I still took my kids on a walk into the mountains today. The rain was very kind and held off. The terrain is so steep here. The log walkway basically becomes a log ladder up and down the earthquake ravaged landscape of Taiwan. This is a shot of my kids ahead of me descending into the jungle, again, the Tamron 17-50mm:

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

jgredline Posted January 16, 2011 Share Posted January 16, 2011
well, i finally got out and shot some film. I shot two rolls yesterday. i did not realize how much i truly missed shooting with a good ole fashion slr and hearing that shutter go CLA THUNK...anyway, i used my spotmatic sp2 with 35mm super tak and 99 cents film. processing was done by target. i cropped slightly and that be about it.

inside the Griffith park observatory

this first one was shot wide open at f/3.5, 1/60, 200 speed film hand held.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MattB.Net Posted January 16, 2011 Share Posted January 16, 2011
I see we are off to a fantastic start! Nice work - Garry's framed shot stands out the most to me so far.
.
We had some great frost this morning so I went out for a little shooting. Tried another HDR that I think I like.
K-x & DA15, HDR with HDR Pad

.
And one from near the ski area yesterday. I got my DAL55-300 out for some reach.
K-x & DAL55-300
<a title="IMGP5486.jpg by MattB (somedudeus), on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5042/5359481874_5e7c277267_z.jpg" alt="IMGP5486.jpg" width="640" height="425" />
.
And one bonus pic this week. I saw this guy on the way home from skiing yesterday right next to the road. There's a fish hatchery nearby so it's a popular hangout for fish eating eagles. The light was fading (mostly gone) and I needed the reach of the DAL55-300. Those two factors made the IQ so-so at best IMO. Still it was exciting to get!
K-x & DAL55-300
<a title="IMGP5554.jpg by MattB (somedudeus), on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5047/5359483292_d81d240e82_z.jpg" alt="IMGP5554.jpg" width="425" height="640" />

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
