nico_bargna
Hello guys! I would like a suggest. It is resonable to upagrade an Fm2n to a FM3A? Or it is better to hold the FM2n and take a new F100 like first body? Thank's Nico
jim_gifford
Nico, check the SLRs section of this forum for a thread on the part of your question that concerns FM3A vs FM2N... as for whether it would be "better" to add an F100 to your kit, you'd need to offer more info about what & how you shoot. For some types of photography, autofocus and metering choices are worth a lot.
richard_milner2
I think you need to decide if you want to stick with a manual outfit or go to auto-focus. If you decide to stick with manual, but you have the money for an F100, I'd buy the FM3a as a second body and spend the rest of your money on manual lenses. mike_scott2
Unless you require TTL flash or aperture priority automation, I wouldn't consider the FM3a an upgrade from the FM2n. A F100 would certainly be a technological leap, with AF, advanced metering, autowinder, etc. As stated, it really comes down to what you're shooting I've been a FM2 shooter for 18 years and I'm starting to consider adding AF to my bag - I think the F100/FM2n would make a great pair, each with its own strengths and with a huge array of lenses available which will function on either body. Now, if I'm really, really good maybe I'll find one in my stocking this x-mas tho' I'll keep saving my pennies in case St. Nick doesn't come through. craig_bridge
FM2n to FM3a is more a replacement than an upgrade except for TTL flash capabilities. FM2n to F100 is more a technology move than an upgrade. What can't you do with your FM2n easily that you want to do? That should guide your decision. If the answer is nothing, then wait till you have a reason. Either way, I'd keep the FM2n as a backup/second body.
david_h._hartman
I would not sell the FM2n to get an FM3a or F100 but if you have only one body Id consider adding either one to your system.
