dotty_waxman
I am finally uninstalling ( or TRYING to) CS3. I have NO OTHER programs open & error message wants me to close Adobe updater & Bridge CS5 in order to continue. Neither of these are open. I deactivated CS3 & that's as far as I can go. Also, should I uninstall Bridge CS3? I do have CS4 and CS5 functioning. Thanks & Happy Holidays all!
mikesutherland
<p>Try the CS cleaning tool - I would deactivate and uninstall CS4 and CS5 before running the cleaning tool. Then once you have got rid of CS3 reinstall and reactivate CS4/5.</p> <p>More info here http://www.mydigitallife.info/2010/07/05/uninstall-and-remove-adobe-cs3-cs4-and-cs5-with-adobe-cs5-cleaner-tool/</p>
DickArnold
Go into the Task Manager. control alternate delete and see if CS3 is still in processes and if so delete it. It worked for me in a similar situations,
dotty_waxman
Dick, Yes, 'updater.exe' was there & I deleted it. Bridge CS5 is not there but error message says to close it. 'Bridge.exe' IS there, but I hesitate to delete that. I am in "processes" not "applications". Thanks to you & Mike.
DickArnold
Processes is correct but I suggest you call adobe support. They will help you just go to the adobe wedsite. I could not download their latest update to CS5 until I deleted it in processes at their advice. Rather than my trying to further help you call them. Sometimes their is a wait and sometimes not. Having to go into processes seemed odd to me as I think it a program glitch but that is how I got my download.
mikesutherland
<p>"deleting" it from processes wont cause any damage. All you are doing is stopping that particular process from running until it is next requested to start by launching CS or restarting your system. It doesn't delete it from disk.</p>

dotty_waxman
Well, finally I managed to clean it out completely. Yes, I deleted "Bridge CS5" in "processes" & all is gone now. Thanks to all for your input. Happy New Year!
