What color of cloths?

<p>Are you talking about backdrop cloths, behind a portrait subject? Or clothing, on people?</p>

<p>Either way, choosing a background or clothing color that doesn't appear elsewhere in the frame is very helpful, allowing you to independently tweak the value of that object without affecting the rest of the photo.</p>

<p>In other words -- green clothes on a purple background (or vice versa), neither of which will overlap much with skin or each other.</p>

<p>The color clothing I like to shoot knowing the final image will be in B&W is yellow.<br>

Easier to shoot than white in some circumstances.</p>
