EO Connector for nikonos strobes

I have an old Aquatica A3 housing for Nikon F3. The bulkheads on the housing are the female EO connector type. I am wondering if there exists a kind of sync cable with a male EO connector on one end and a standard Nikonos connector to plug into a Nikonoss SB-104 or SB-105 on the other end. If not, can I change the EO Connector bulkheads to a standard Nikonos bulkheads using Aquatica parts? Anyone tried this conversion? I have asked Aquatica regarding the A3 housing but they don't seem to have any information on it. Does anyone know if the current Aquatica Nikonos type Bulkheads have the same thread as the EO female connectors?

Alvin, The electro oceanic (EO) connectors are still made but not to my knowledge with nikonos connectors. They have not been made thaat way for a few years now. I purchased a set of Aquatica wet connectors a few years back and returned them because the fittings to my Nikonos sync port leaked. I would switch over to a standard Nikonos bulk head and be done with it if you intend to use this housing. The EO wet connectors were at one time the standard. I am not sure how the threads match up. Good hunting. Andy

Thank you Edward for your reply. I am thinking of changing the bulkhead from EO type to Nikonos type. I have upload a picture of the Nikonos type bulkhead from Aquatica. Do you think this is will solve my problem assuming the thread size is correct. How do you waterproof the bulkhead/housing interface? Silicon glue?

Alivin, I think it would solve your problem if you are going to be using sync cords with a Nikonos connect on the housing end. I would call Backscatter.com or ReefPhoto.com to have them do it. One other possibility would be to send it to Aquatica. The problem is that the Canadian mail system is unfreindly to individuals who do this IMHO and hold on to items that are sent for long period. Mauricio Handler at HandlerPhoto.com is an aquatica dealer and can help steer you. The other individual who might help is Jean Bruneau. He is the aquatica tech rep at http://www.vizart.ca/Home/Home.html . Wetpixel.com has technical forums that my be able to help you out. Andy
