rjpierrard
Hi,

I've been looking at a lot of macro setups, especially the bellows and reverse ring, and I'm wondering, first, if there are any major considerations I should look into before committing to anything in this area.

The other thing I'm wondering is that given that you can make a macro setup with a reverse ring, what happens if you put together three different lenses with reverse rings, or a wide angle lens Before the longer lens, etc?

Thanks for your help!
rjpierrard
edit: I'm also wondering about vignetting - for example if you use a 77mm lens with a reversed 52mm lens, will you get cropped edges?
alex_lofquist
A reversed wide angle in front of a longer focal length lens can work quite well, with little likelihood of vignetting. Set both lenses at infinity and focus by moving the camera/lenses for the sharpest image. The aperture (entrance pupil) is best controlled by the front, short FL lens. Stacking more than a pair of lenses will probably create more headaches than it is worth, but you might wish to try it.
