randrew1
I'm looking for a good camera harness to use with a DSLR while hiking. I used to have one that filled the bill. It is shown in the attached picture. It didn't survive the move to a new house. I have since acquired a "Keyhole" harness from http://www.backcountrysolutions.com/ that works well with my backback. I would like to find something like my previous harness that didn't require a backpack. I've bee searching Google without much luck.

Any suggestions?

todd peach seattle, washi
In the last millennium, such a beast was known as a Kuban hitch. Googling that, I get a thread here in p.n from 2000 that mentions Optech:
http://optechusa.com/catalog/product/view/id/96/s/bino-cam-harness/category/7/
jason_hall5
Take a look at the Blackrapids products.

You can see videos here.

With the "BRAD" or the "JOEY" mods you maybe able to come up with what you like. I am sold on the RS-7.

Good Luck

Jason

drjoder
Another idea: simply use a second camera strap around your waist/back...maybe modify the clips so you can detach it and, with a small tether, it'll be there for reattachment after the shot. Cheap and simple.
frank_b._baiamonte
It might be a bit much for hiking, but several of my friends have Cotton Carriers and really like them.
