I had a different photo picked out for this week, but went with Matt's sentimental suggestion.
This is Bailey, wistfully looking out the window at her "boyfriend" - a 6' 5" neighbor who loves dogs (Bailey doesn't care much for other dogs - she prefers people).

00XZCq-294939584.jpg.2761fbd381dc501d62a8c589168c81fa.jpg

It isn't my best shot for sure. But I'm growing vegetables! First time in my life and I'm really excited. And I had to have a photo in case nasty critters get to the "farm" before I get to sample its treats. These are collard greens. Nikon D700, Tamron 90mm FX f/2.8 lens, hand held, 1/500 sec., f3.5, ISO 200.

00XZEz-294973684.jpg.88a6093124eebe4a4a40293670fa01cd.jpg

Nikon Buddies,
Interesting mix of photos, today. Notable to me are those from Jeff L, Jennifer M,
Louis M, Yacoub I, Markku V, Ray H, Jeanne H, and Chris W.
My offering is of a pepper plant in a mix of plants on the back porch. The lone
pepper was calling for my attention.

00XZK0-295041584.jpg.c0c51f93e00a541754c529047423648e.jpg

Here are the images that caught my attention this week, but many others are quite nice.
John Farrar, now that's a Sierra Club portfolio type image
Aquinadlo de Paula, wonderful mountain image, great colors
Jennifer Meighan, cute guy with wonderful story
Alexander Kleppesto, he is a character from so many stories, I want that man.
Paul Jim, wonderful bird portrait, wonderful colors and bokah
Rick Sands, now that puts a smile on my face
Andreas Arteaga, great shot, love the feel of the copper patina
Scott Pogorele, high ISO has done wonders for cave photography, very evenly lit
Jeanne Hauschild, very nice ambiance with tinting, cinema quality

Hey all, Had plans to shoot some interesting dancing today but I was pulled to a conference. Next week definitely. Instead, this weeks entry is from my class. The students had dressdown today and they were taking a test. I always love to see my students struggle and do well.
This was shot with D300 and Nikor 60 @ f/3.2 ISO 800 1/200 with fill flash.

00XZLC-295069584.jpg.9a4f365d63d99b63ad8c54e5cb61a381.jpg

This was shot at the Salisbury, NC depot on October 8 with my first ever Nikon DSLR--although I have the F3HP and used to shoot the Kodak 14n a lot with Nikon glass. In spite of the diffraction effects, I consider this to be my first keeper with this new camera--shot on my first outing with it.

00XZMo-295097584.jpg.e10947a33a5fe489898341d4bc89c0bc.jpg

Since it's still wednesday in california and hawaii so i'm going for it -- better late than never. This is an odd and obviously skewed shot which I just managed to get out a taxicab window at fifth avenue and 112th street in harlem -- I saw these two and got my camera half pointed in the right direction just before the cab accelerated away. Yet despite the obvious flaw I really like it. I call it "Crossing the Avenue."

00XZNp-295109584.thumb.jpg.8aecfc13f696941a42a9349345e9f0b7.jpg
