blaise_fiedler
I noticed that the best photos on this site had nice frames around them (black border, black + white line, etc...). I manage to do that manually on Photoshop, but it takes me quite some time - do you know of any solution to automatize this? Thank you!
william_patterson
Go to the Fred Miranda site http://www.fredmiranda.com/Action_profilesPage/index.html and check out the FM Frames-Pro PhotoShop action. I think that it will do what you want and it only costs $8.50.
gannet___
I guess it's a matter of taste. I hate those borders, I think they look tacky. When I'm rating, Aesthetics gets a partial downgrade for borders. A copyright notice within the photo gets a larger downgrade. I want to see the photo, the whole photo, and nothing but the photo. No embellishments, please. Just imo. :)
jwink3101
Got to image>canvas size. Add the same number on inches or pixels to each demention. The color that is on the back color selector is the color the frame would be
emre
You can add a border by using Edit>Stroke. You first need to be in 8 bit mode (Image>Mode>8 bits/channel) and select the canvas (Ctrl-A).
mbuntag
If you have any process in Photoshop that uses a large number of steps, use the actions palette. At the bottom of the palette and click on the "new action" icon (or open up the actions menu and select the "new action" option). Name the action, press "record" and perform all the steps you need to apply to your image, and Photoshop records every step. When done, click on the icon at the bottom of the palette to stop the recording. You now have a preset action that you can recall by using the "play" icon. Photoshop will perform the steps automatically.
dudley
Photoshop Elements offers various frame styles as pre-packaged effects - just drag and drop from the effects palatte. Should be obvious, but it took 6 months for me to stumble accross them. No idea if they're in the real PS7
