alberto pastorelli
Take a loook at : http://www.agfa.com/photo/products/film/consumer/ultra/ and : http://www.agfa.com/photokina/pdf/news_2002-09-25_1.pdf Seems incredible that after all this time they've decided to substitute the notable AGFA ULTRA 50 with the new ULTRA 100 only in 135 format. I don't know if this can be related to the "rumours" abot AGFA's crises, but, for many of us, it is a sad news.
cxc
Hey, any Ultra's better than no Ultra. Maybe if we buy enough of it they will release it in 120 as well... CXC
barry schmetter
The fact that they're re-releasing Ultra at all is fairly amazing. It's a film with a very small niche market. Most MF shooters that are looking for saturation are in the Velvia camp. I'd also like to see APX-25 back, but the reality is the market won't support either of these products. I think we've all got to face the fact that *this* is the golden age of film, and that age is ending. Just as Kodak recently merged the Royal and Supra lines, I think we're going to see further consolidations until we end up with a small selection of higher-priced products. Companies like Kodak and Agfa support a number of products that don't make (or lose) money in order to offer full product lines, but eventually the axe comes down. christian deichert
Cool, and dammit. I've been looking forward to its re-release as Ultra 100, but I was hoping for 120...c'est la vie. I'll just have to keep saving my remaining rolls in the fridge for a rainy day.
