fredlee70x7
I want to add a backpack in additin to my Lowepro Rover Light for my 6x7 system, which includes: RZ67 II body with waist-level finder, 2 120 backs, 50/4.5 ULD w/. hood, 110/2.8 w/. hood, 180/4.5 w/. hood, Sekonic L-508, Vivitar 285 Flash, 4 filters w/. plastic cases, Mirror-up shutter release, Some stuff that I plan to add in future are: 250/4.5 Apo or 350/5.6 Apo, 1 220 back (to replace one 120 back), L-grip, Winder. My questions is: which Lowepro backpack will fit these with the smallest dimension? From the catalog, the Pro Trekker & Photo Trekker seem to be too big. What about the Photo Trekker Classic or the smaller Nature Trekker? I appreciate some comments/experience from actual users. Thanks.
ashley_hosten
Don't know what country you're in, but when I researched large back-packs, I came up with the CCS Ventilator Super. Here in the UK its approx £190.00. In the US it might be $200.00 maybe? I've had mine a couple of years. It can hold 3 Mamiya C3's, 5 TLR lenses, Metz 45, lots of film, plus all accessories, and comes with a rain cape (that I've never used....and I've safely walked in the rain loads of times: equipment dry)
ashley_hosten
It'll hold your 250mm. Not sure about the 360mm. Camera World in the UK stock it.
fredlee70x7
Thanks to Ashley. But the bulk/size of TLR camera and lenses are very different than the RZ. Is that backpack can also hold RZ's? I'm in Canada and haven't seen CCS cases. Is there a web site?
ashley_hosten
Fred, I'm a big guy and you can load the CCS Ventilator Super till you can hardly stand. I do know the RZ series and think it would hold your kit very well. Its not as 'tall' as the LowePro but wider. Very comfortable straps. I just checked CCS's site and don't see it listed. Maybe they're discontinuing it. Try e-mailing them direct. http://www.ccscentre.co.uk/ Other manufacturers http://www.tamrac.com/welcome.htm http://www.tenba.com/camera/camerabag3.htm#backpaks http://www.lowepro.com/pages/byStyle/backpack.htm Hope you find the bag you're looking for. I swear by my Spr Ventilator, but my next choice would be a Tenba.
christian deichert
The LowePro Nature Trekker is a nice bag. If memory serves, I fit a Mamiya C330, three TLR lenses, 2 35mm bodies and quite a few lenses. Probably too much, actually; in fact, my one warning on this bag is watch the overloading. The zipper came undone from the rear because of my overload; I ended up doing a warranty return to Lowe and including a $40 check so they would upgrade my bag to a Photo Trekker, which holds everything. victor_moss
I carry a RB body + WLF plus 2/3 lenses + 3 backs + L-508 + 2 extension tubes plus a digital body with 3 lenses (that includes two large zooms) in my Lowepro Photo Trekker AW. I am not mentioning various paraphernalia like filters, batteries and cable release, but they all find a place. Btw. the bag is pretty deep, so you could use some extra paddings to store two lenses (or better one lens and small stuff like an extender) in one compartment. I have the optional pouches too and would highly recommend them. The tripod is tethered to the bag by nylon strings and wobbles a bit, a bit bothersome on steep hikes. Other than that the only thing I wish for is a donkey
