mountainvisions
This week my shot is from the Currituck Beach Lighthouse in Corolla, North Carolina.

This is taken with a Samsung TL500 (EX1), highlighting a need for Pentax to produce a high quality digital compact, I was left without a Pentax option to even consider in this category. Suffice to say I'm very happy with the camera. I still think this is a market that will have a following even after the whole ILC/EVIL camera segment matures. Hopefully Pentax will address this market segment at some point in the future now that Samsung, Canon, Panasonic, and Ricoh all have competitors in this class of camera.

<a title="Round and Round by Mountain Visions, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4144/4988234025_12295f1e2a_z.jpg" alt="Round and Round" width="640" height="543" />
24 mm, F1.8, 1/6th second, ISO 80.

david_nunn1
Upnor Castle was bulit in 1564 to protect English warships moored at Chatham dockyards. Despite a brave attempt, it entirely failed to do so in 1667, when the Dutch sailed past it to burn or capture the English fleet at anchor.

david_nunn1
In 1668 it was converted into a place of stores. Hundreds of barrels of gunpowder were stored here. The staircase below has no nails and the handrail is made of lead to prevent sparks.

stemked
Looks like we're off to some great images. Markus' work knocked me flat! and David's staircase is remarkable. While I got some killer images of my daughter my wife has a 'no identifiable posts of the daughter' rule. So instead one less than spectacular image of a Red Admiral Butterfly taken in Zionsville (IN) . Too many papers to grade and reports to write.

michael_elenko
Excellent art Justin, the camera specs are indeed impressive, but you made it happen.

I've been having a lot of fun with M42 SMC Takumars on my Canon 7D. Funny how that LBA lifecycle comes back around. I had sold off all my SuperTaks a few years ago, but now I find the EOS-to-M42 adapters easier to manage than the Pentax Kmount-to-M42s, so I've scouted out some primo SMC Takumars.

Flowering Maple (Abutilon)

EOS 7D, SMC Takumar M42 100mm f4 Macro, f6.7 @ 1/90, ISO 200

Crocosmia

EOS 7D, SMC Takumar M42 100mm f4 Macro, f8 @ 1/20, ISO 400

Lush Light

EOS 7D, SMC Takumar M42 55mm f1.8, f4 @ 1/1500, ISO 400

ME
