Nikon D3s disappeared from the stores?

I´ll be visiting Seattle/WA and Vancouver/CA by the end of this month and would like to know if I'm going to find this camera in any store.<br>

I've noticed that BH and Adorama don't have it for a long time. What is going on?<br>

I wonder if Nikon is going to release any new professional model these days.<br>

<p>I'd disagree, John. Instead: as usual, Nikon makes their very high end products in smaller batches, since they - like every manufacturer - don't want to get stuck with a pile of expensive merchandise sitting on the shelves in a touchy economy while currency exchange rates bounce all over the place. Do you really think that they don't want to sell cameras to each and every person who has that kind of money to spend on one? They're not "playing" at anything.</p>

<p>At the rate tech is evolving, camera manufacturers play as hard-to-get as a streetwalker does at 2:00 AM. The D3S has been well-received and has sold well. I'm not surprised it is scarce.</p>
