l_a_k_h_i_n_d_e_r
I wanted to plan using this lens for macro purposes, as it can go about 1:1.1 with bellows-- and is perhaps just as stellar as my 90mm macro lens. Any body using the 150mm lens as the primary macro lens? Anybody using this as a regular portrait lens with the 17mm extension? With a 150mm lens, the working distance is much more comfortable as compared to 90mm. I am currently not planning for the 120mm-- as one hears so much about its flare issues. The 90mm is fantastic. It is a bit too close to 120mm. Thanks. Oh, where can I find a not too expensive used 150mm macro ;-)
edward_s_carmick
I have and use the 150 mm f 4.6 Apo-Symmar. It is good at infinity but not exceptional. It is exceptional with a tight head shot and closer. I use it with two fixed tubes and the variable tube; this works from infinity down to about 1:2. I find this a little more robust than my bellows. Actually I prefer my 150 mm f 4 Tele-Xenar for portraits with the 17 mm tube. I use the Apo-Symmar for close-ups. I think these are sharper than the 150 mm Sonnar and 180 mm f 2.8 Tele-Xenar. The latter I find too heavy and not sharp. My two bits worth.Ed Carmick
rolleica_bean
I know there is a new old stock in Hong Kong. Asked for USD1650, maybe you can get better price to bargain a bit.
