ronald_lowrey
I just purchased an Epson 2450 Scanner digitizing my 6x7 slide film. When using the plastic flim holder, a shadow appears at the top of the scanned image. It covers about 10% of the image and is not opaque, but appears as a darker less detailed area. It appears to be caused by the edge of the holder. Has anyone else experienced this problem? It occurs when using the 4x5 area also. I can solve the problem by placing the film directly on the glass and then holding it down with tape or a piece of glass. I would appreciate any response. Thanks, Ron Lowrey, Lone Tree,CO
rick_falck
Are you sure you are placing the holder on the scanner properly? The top right corner of the holder should be in the top right corner of the glass (top and right edges of holder snug against the sides of the glass). It sounds like you are not getting the film placed under the lamp in the hood squarely.
ronald_lowrey
Yes, I placed the film holder in the upper righthand corner next to white arrow as described in the manual. The shadow appears regardless if the film is in the holder or not, also on the 4x5 template. Ron Lowrey
