gen_b.
My Canon SD1100 has a problem with taking timely photos both indoors and out, and even for posed photos. I'm not expecting the same shutter speed action as my Nikon D-SLR, but it's still slower than my old Olympus 3.2MP camera, and I miss a lot of photos. Turning off the LCD helps, but not by much....and it's annoying.
Is this just a problem with this model, or in all pocket-sized cameras?
Help appreciated.
swenson
It sounds like you're talking about the time between shots. I've got an SD1300 and it takes a few seconds, I'm guessing 2-3, to recycle, which considering the size and cost I don't consider all that bad.
nathangardner
the problem is that P&S cameras have to auto focus before snapping a shot. When you push the shutter button, its slow to take the photo b/c it must focus first, then fire the shutter. Try this: push the shutter button down halfway before you are ready to shoot. This will engage the auto focus so that when you push the shutter button all the way down the focus is already set and the shutter should fire immediately.
