Rick_van_Nooij
Someone over at the UK re-enactment forum posted a few pictures of his father's camera and is looking for additional information on it.
So far Google has yielded no answers, probably because the photos are kind of fuzzy and I've not been able to decypher the markings. It looks like the type reads "Fluetta 88", and the name on the lens looks like "Finelar".

Picture of the Camera
Close-up of the Type name

Can someone identify it before I it drives me nuts? (or even more nuts)

Regards,
Rick
steve m smith
I can't see the pictures as you need to log onto the site to view it but could it be a Finetta 88?
http://www.earlyphotography.co.uk/Images/C66.JPG
rick_drawbridge
I can't access your pics, Rick, but it's probably a Finetta 88 with the 45mm Finetar f/2.8 lens, a curious little camera which I'm very fond of. Very simple but with interchangeable lenses..quite delightful. Plenty on the net and Google should see you right.
Rick_van_Nooij
Wow, even without the images, you both got it in one go! Amazing!

I guess I should have downloaded the images and hosted them myself.

Thanks a lot,
Rick
j.p._dahl_n
It was made after the war, so I wouldn't recommend him to use it while reenacting the war. A pre-war Retina would be a lot better, and they were used by both the Axis and Allies. :-)
charles_stobbs3
A previous photonet discussion of military cameras - http://www.photo.net/classic-cameras-forum/009SWU - suggests quite a few models.
