Voigtlander Repro-Skopar f3.5

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I discovered one of these in a box of photo "stuff."

It's an odd looking thing with no aperture setting and the mount is some sort of a thumb screw to clamp on to another lens.

It looks like this:

I believe it is for a "Prominent" rangefinder, although how you use a macro lens on a rangefinder is beyond me.

I cannot find any for sale on the Large Auction Site. Are they sought after? Not having a Prominent rangefinder it is surplus to requirements.

Cheers,

Hey Kelly, All, sorry - I should have said I lifted the pic from http://www.novacon.com.br/odditycameras/voigtland2.htm

Mainly I am wondering what to do with the thing. It seems unusual and should go to a good home.
Of course if it is worth anything it would be a welcome addition to my darkroom fund.
I explained to my wife that cameras were like cats, sometimes they just needed to find a good home and sometimes that home was my home. :-) She must have been in a good mood - she agreed!

It has its own special reflex housing. You can see it behind a Prominent II on this page :
http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/2668255
As nutty as I am about my Prominent, I'd save my money for another body as backup. Can't see how much use I'd get from that lens.
I'd guess the Repro-Skopar is worth at least a few Franklins in excellent condition ( without reflex housing ).
