james_de_h
I have in the past had trouble with small insects getting trapped behind the glass covering my flat panel displays. Now I run some sticky tape around the edge of the display, renewing it periodically so the exposed sticky bit I leave proud around the edges remains tacky. This traps bugs before they can start trying to ease themselves under the display glass - how they do not get trapped in the seal defeats me. Although I would not say this is a 100% foolproof it has worked so far on my iMac 27in. The tape I have just removed has the remains of at least 20 thunder flies stuck to it. I only use thin tape and I do not push it down hard - this makes it easy to pull off. Apologies to bug lovers.
tom_mann1
Fortunately, I have never once run into this problem. If they are getting in your monitor, I would worry about where else they might be. Perhaps an earlier defense might be useful, eg, screens on the windows, a contract with Orkin, etc.? Are you in the tropics?

Tom M
michael_young3
Heh. Bug ridden software, maybe in the graphics modules. I can honestly say I have not had thunder fly problems on my PC.
