ShunCheung
Last Saturday, my wife and I went to the California coast to photograph wildlife. Unfortunately, we found not much to shoot in an area where we had plenty of opportunities in the past. So we ended up photographing some paragliders instead. By 7:30pm, we were about to leave (since the paragliders had left), and then I spotted some nice sand dunes. While I was photographing that, I saw this little boy running up the hill.. I was hoping that he would get a little further, but he suddenly turned around and went back to his parents. I only got a couple of frames.

Nikon D300 with 200-400mm/f4 AF-S VR lens, version 1 at 220mm, f4.5, 1/500 sec and ISO 200.

oskar_ojala
I haven't been active here lately since it's summer, nice weather and all sorts of activities going on. Nevertheless, I've taken some photos.
This one is not a great shot, but I like the mood of it; taken past 10 PM with the sun down low behind the trees, the horse was curious about me.

jannekaakinen
Happy Wednesday!

I attended a wedding last weekend in Eastern Finland - not as a photographer, but just as a guest. Had my camera with me anyway and came home with few nice shots (didn't shoot the actual wedding much, but shot everything else during the trip :) ). This one is a view from the place where the wedding reception took place.

issac
Hello everybody,

I've not posted on this forum for sometime, though I did regularly visit the "Wednesday Pic" postings every week .

As usual, most of the pictures today are exceptional. Amongst those that really captivated me are:

Matt Laur - I keep going back to this image. You have really captured the "love" here. Wow!
Greg Kowalczewski - Impressive. Where did you get this picture? I believe these are nocturnal birds & sort of rare.
Michael Mixon - Quite a sensitive portrait. Congratulations!
Jennifer Meighan - Good picture. Was this a studio shot?
Ton Mestrom - Wow! strong definite expressions from all the subjects. Arresting.
Dieter Schaefer - Love your picture for the surreal colors. HDR has made the picture soft (is it deliberate?)
Shun Cheung - The patterns in the sand contrast quite well to the featureless sky. Running boy adds a compelling interest.
Janne Kaakinen - Your picture imparts a feeling of calm. It's very good!
I shot this river last week. We have rains in our State now - good time for some pretty photography. This was my first outdoor outing with my new 24mm PC-E F/3.5 Nikkor. This lens is really something. I have not changed the orientation of the Tilt feature (which is desirable for Landscapes).
Please keep up the pictures coming in - Wednesday really perks me up.

~~ Issac Sam

jeannean_.
Wonderful photos! I found this Gulf Fritillary getting some shelter from the rains associated with Hurricane Alex this past week. They normally are pretty active, so was fortunate to find one a little wet and resting.
